Wembley of the north …… hmm
Well finally got to visit the old ‘Wembley of the North’. Chilly day to say the least. Liked ground, and the set up outside. However, the away end facilities were poor. Fortunately there were only 383 of us Grecians there, so they could just about cope. Was able to park fairly close in a car park. Given it was only little old Exeter City a shame we couldn’t mingle in their fanzine pre-match.

Decent
Average fans and the ground itself is pretty nice. Stewards at entry were awful though.

A decent ground now that improvements have been made

Old but gold
Great older stadium with modern touches. Just don't get caught sitting behind 1 of the structural stantions. Decent facilities and food is well priced.

Port Vale in the cup
Old school ground. Didn't feel as big inside as it looks on tv and didn't have the bowl shape I was expecting. Once built as the Wembley of the north but now more appropriate for an upwardly mobile Port Vale. Seating bolted on to old terracing in the away end. Roofing helps keep the nouse in and create a good, noisy atmosphere. Much prefer this type of ground to the more sanitised product further up the league but suspect these ones will become increasingly rare.
