Doing the best with what they have
Felt a bit odd and not really a league ground - but the locals were friendly enough and there’s a decent pub (The Bricklayers) about 15 mins walk away that was really welcoming to away fans. Stewards and staff really polite and friendly. Walsall got spanked 3-1 and we should’ve stayed in the pub, but overall a pleasant day out. Probably wouldn’t rush back but at least I’ve got the ground in now

Decent grassroots ground for a team punching well above they’re weight but the support is odd I’ve been twice and on my second visit they moved the drum so the chants were different in different stands

Grassroots glamour
Hayes Lane: where non-league charm meets league-level facilities — like a footballing mullet: grassroots in the front, professional in the back. A cracking little ground where Millwall and Palace fans unite in rare harmony… to cheer on their second team and moan about the ref. Coffee in hand, chips in lap, and a view that’s close enough to hear the manager’s existential crisis. What’s not to love

My sort of home town team
I was born in Bromley but never lived here apart from a spell in a YWCA vastly improved with the new stand one game will always stick in the memory an 11,1 win on boxing day against now defunct Thurrock still the most goals in a game that I have watched over my history I have rarely gone to Hayes Lane the star and garter is a must visit pub when visiting Hayes Lane it's my local
